Our pottery is handmade in Ireland. Naked raku is a pottery technique that involves covering a piece of pottery in slip, firing it, and then removing the slip to reveal a unique, smoky pattern. Glazed raku, on the other hand, uses a glaze to achieve a shiny, crackled effect, while Saggar firing involves placing pottery in a protective container with organic materials to create unpredictable patterns and colors.
Raku is about the process, the materials, the firing, the cooling, and the unpredictable results that make each piece unique.
