August Craft Month Meet the Maker/Demonstration Event
When: 12pm – 5pm Friday 04/08/2017
Where: The Craft Cottage, Craft Village, Shipquay St, Derry
August Craft Month is an annual event organised by Craft NI and is an opportunity for all of us to support local designer-makers and promote their work, and also provides opportunities for the public to experience, participate in and learn more about contemporary craft through workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and other craft events. This year Kildoag Pottery are delighted to be demonstrating some hand building techniques as part of the event along with other members from Derry Designer Makers collective.
Located in the heart of Derry’s Craft Village, Derry Designer Makers is an artist collective whose membership includes some of the best ‘artisan’ established and emerging makers and creatives based in the North West of Ireland. Product ranges include ceramics, hand-crafted jewellery in precious metals and fused glass, textile items such as knitwear and felting, decorative and fine art, photography, scented candles and skilfully turned wood items.
Come along to the Craft Village, Derry/Londonderry on Friday 4th August anytime between 12 – 4pm to MEET THE MAKERS of Derry Designer Makers. Our makers and artists will be in the COTTAGE in the CRAFT VILLAGE where we will have DEMOS on all afternoon. Feel free to ask any questions about how our products are made, and discuss the creative ideas and making processes behind each discipline. The event is family friendly, free, and refreshments will be provided – though children under 12 must be supervised by an adult. The shop will also be open so you can see the range of handmade products made by each member. We would love to see you & and have a chat as we get involved in #augcraft17 organised by Craft NI
